The back-to-school season may not be the favorite season for many students. Usually, that reminds them of long and hard courses and classes. Although one thing that almost every student is excited about is the school supplies.
But while it is fun to pick out a new backpack, notebooks, and pencil cases from stores, it is even more fun to handmade and personalizes your own items. When it comes to essay writing for college education, you should feel free to ask to write your assignment because you simply can't write a great essay on every single topic. But when making DIY crafts, no one is going to judge your final result, and it gives you a chance to show your personality, choose the colors that you love and simply make every supply unique and interesting.
Also, you can make many of the handmade projects from art supplies that you already have at home, and all that you will need is just some creative ideas and tutorials to inspire you. There is something for everyone here.
Pom Pom Bookmarks
Let's begin with the fact that you will only need two things to make these fun bookmarks. Scissors and Yarn. You should begin with wrapping the yarn around a slip of cardboard or your fingers. You should use three or four fingers for the width to get a decent-sized pom-pom. Then cut a long length of yarn and tightly tie it around the middle of the yarn loops. The long tail will be the part that sits in the book. Follow up with cutting all the yawn loops, and you have your Pom Pom bookmark ready. You can continue by shaping it into a heart, star, or anything that you want, but that will require a bit more dedication.
Glittery Graphic Pencil Cases
For this project, you will need a colored paint of your choice and white, some brushes to paint with, label paper, mod podge, some glitter, printable stencils, scissors, and of course, a plain pencil case. Choose and print your stencil template and cut out the shapes or letters. Peel the back of the stencil and add it to the pencil case, then paint over it with the white paint to act as a primer and let it dry, then add your desired paint color and sprinkle the glitter over. Let it dry, then seal that with a final layer of mod podge over your glitter. Remove the stencil, and you have yourself a unique and fun pencil case.
Identifier Tags
For creating an identifier tag, you will need duct tape sheets in a color of your choice, a 3X5 piece of clear film, sheets of colored foam, colorful rings, an old business card, scissors and duct tape, and a glue gun.
Begin by cutting a piece 4-1/2 x 3-1/2 of clear film and setting it aside. Then cut a piece from the duct tape sheets in 5-1/2 x 3-1/2, and for the loop, cut a 6x1 strip of duct tape. Continue by flooding that strip in the middle on the sticky side, then also set it aside. Then take one of the duct tape sheets and cut down a window and some small slits in the corners of the window so you can fold them back on the sticky side and place the clear firm in the window from the inside on the sticky side. And that will give you the finished look of the front side. Then take your strip of duct tape, put it in the middle to be used for hanging the tag, add your foamy behind, and glue all of that together with a glue gun. Cover your old business card with colored paper, write your information on it, and put it inside. You can then continue with decorating your tag in the way you want to or use it as it is.
DIY Watercolor Backpack
To create this unique backpack to carry around your university campus, you will need a plain white backpack, some fabric markers, a paper towel, and a spray bottle filled with water. Start by spraying the backpack with a light mist of water, then continue coloring the backpack's surface with your chosen colors. Once you have a portion done, spritz some water over the colors. The more water you add, the more they will start to bleed together and create an amazing watercolor look. Remove any access with your paper towel and seal the colors with some heat.
